In this appendix we’ll go through some of the basic concepts of probability. The subject deserves more treatment than this appendix provides, so think of this as a quick refresher if you’ve had this material in the past but need to be reminded about some of the details. For someone who hasn’t had this material before, I recommend studying more than this humble appendix. A number of good tutorials and videos are available from the Khan Academy that can be used for self-study.[1]
