Installing Android Studio
Android Studio is a development environment for the Android platform. We will quickly review the installation steps and basic configurations required to start the app on a mobile phone. For a more detailed introduction to Android development, I would recommend an introductory book, Android 5 Programming by Example by Kyle Mew, Packt Publishing.
Grab the latest Android Studio for developers at https://developer.android.com/studio/ and follow the installation instructions at http://developer.android.com/sdk/installing/index.html?pkg=studio. The installation will take around 10 minutes, occupying approximately 0.5 GB of space.
