Every computer has two parts: the hardware and the software. The hardware is the physical part, such as the case, screen, keyboard, and so on. The software is the digital part, such as the operating system, programs, and your files.
Most of this book is about how to use the software that makes up Mac OS X and the programs that come with it. But let us also look at the hardware to get a complete understanding of your Mac and how you can use it.
