Lesson 10

Manage Password Changes

Goals

  • images Change known passwords

  • images Reset lost user passwords

A password change is different from a password reset. You can change a password if you know it, but if you don’t know it, you might be able to reset it. Changing and resetting passwords both result in a new password, but you should reset a password only if a user doesn’t know their password.

In this lesson, you learn how to change and reset passwords. You also learn about the ramifications of modifying passwords.
