Working with Style Precedence
When more than one style applies to the same element, the browser displays the attributes of each style in combination with the other styles—and those styles might conflict with each other. In case of such a conflict, the precedence of styles is determined by the cascading nature of CSS. Understanding how to manage and order your styles can help you to avoid unexpected results.
