Chapter 19. Customizing Dreamweaver

Dreamweaver is an extremely customizable program. In fact, it’s very possible to render the program completely unrecognizable. You can change the toolbars, the menus, the floating panels—pretty much everything but the Macromedia copyright notice.

The key to customizing Dreamweaver is to have a solid understanding of JavaScript and XML. This is because a vast majority of Dreamweaver is written in JavaScript. But although that can have something of a negative effect on the program’s performance and stability, it also means that if you know JavaScript, you can customize the program to fit perfectly with the way you work.
