Cascading style sheets (CSS) represent a revolution still in the making in Web development. Many sites now use CSS, although few use style sheets as extensively as they probably should.
A good portion of CSS1, the first CSS specification approved by the W3C, is supported by all browsers (version 4.0 and later) in use (Internet Explorer and Opera support some of CSS1 in 3.x versions). CSS positioning, part of CSS2, is also supported in 4.0 and later browsers.
