Chapter 3. Using Text
Text is an important part of most websites, particularly informational or commercial sites. Flash allows you to have a lot of control over the kind of text you can add to a document and of editing the property settings of the text. Text can be loaded from a server or placed directly on the Stage. Kerning, character spacing, justification, color, and anti-aliasing of text can all be controlled by setting properties in the workspace. Text is regularly used in Flash for creative, beautiful, and traditional purposes. In fact, Flash allows you to create many textual effects that are not possible when using HTML or CSS style sheets (Cascading Style Sheets).
