Over the last several years, Flash has gained the respect of programmers as a tool to develop applications. The majority of these applications are used in Web browsers and loaded over the Internet. There are a few amazing software packages designed to assist you in creating Flash applications designed to run outside the browser as a standalone executable file (on Windows). These programs let you add functionality to your Flash applications that you couldn't get from authoring the file from within Flash.
