Abstract
Glass-coated amorphous ferromagnetic nanowires and submicron wires prepared by means of rapid solidification techniques are a novel class of ultrathin, magnetically soft materials with great potential to be used in novel micro- and nanosensing devices and domain wall logic-based applications. The main characteristics of their magnetic bistable behavior, along with the specific aspects of the domain wall propagation, are analyzed.
