COMMUNITY STORIES: BRINGING LIFE TO CORPORATE RESPONSIBILITY
Remember the creation story I shared of Who Gives A Crap earlier? Well I first heard about this company when my elder daughter, Alex, was on my case to buy their toilet paper because they were an ethical business. It was not that I disagreed with her, but it was during a time when I felt that every single purchasing decision I made was being judged, criticised and debated by my daughters.1
Fast forward to the start of the worldwide coronavirus epidemic and there was panic buying of toilet paper … one of the most ridiculous examples of human behaviour. I received this message from Danny Alexander, who is based in New York and one of the co‐founders of Who Gives A Crap.
Hey there,
Danny here, one of the co‐founders of Who Gives A Crap. What times we're living in, huh? I'm wearing slippers and writing from my dining room table, which is now my office. My wife is on the couch (which is now her office), and my dog is snoring at my feet. We've got water boiling on the stove for tea, and the kittens we're fostering are tumbling around in the hallway. It's not our usual office setup, but it works.
This also isn't the usual email we send. There's nothing fancy here. This is just me, writing to you, to share some things that I hope might make you feel a bit better. The air has been heavy with bad news recently, but so many good things have emerged as well. We want to share them with you.
