Subjective Assessment

In subjective assessment, the Mastering Engineer evaluates the mix solely on the merits of audio fidelity (outlined in Chapter 2—Listening Experience), as opposed to the empirical measurements and verifications of objective assessment. It embodies a foundational aspect of audio mastering that constitutes a differentiating factor between Mastering Engineers. If your clients relate favorably to your assessments and the resultant enhancements, it will build your client base and reputation.
