Resources for Action
This section summarizes and focuses the tools we have developed for seeing and doing the right thing. When you face an ethical situation, you want practical tools readily at hand—not buried in a book. This section gives you a set of tools in a clear and usable form.
The tools fall into two categories. The first category consists of tools to sharpen your own ethics sense. The second category consists of tools to achieve ethical agreement with others. Tools of these two kinds are not independent of one another. The process of seeking ethical agreement with others often sharpens your own ethics sense. On the other hand, sharpening your own ethics sense may help you figure out how to achieve ethical agreement with others.
