22 The golden rules of starting again

Picking up a failed change is very different to starting a new one. Many of the things that I have shared throughout this book still hold true. Starting again is the art of picking up the pieces and re-using them, but not being held back and bound by previous failures.

Every new role I have taken on has involved picking up some sort of change – successful or otherwise – so these rules can go much further than just picking up after a failure.

Before starting again, step through these rules to make sure you have the best chance of success at starting again.
