Chapter 9. IMU/AHRS
Now that we understand the basic aerodynamic forces acting on our drones, we can create a control system that uses these forces to make our drone do what we want. But in order to control our position we must know our position, and for this we start with an inertial measurement unit (IMU). Inertia describes the tendency of objects at rest to stay at rest and objects in motion to stay in motion. In other words, inertia embodies Newton’s first law of motion.
