I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.

A makerspace class is an active space. In most ways, it is the reverse of a traditional classroom, which usually includes significant stretches of instruction and short periods of application. Most students find this environment less engaging, but even a makerspace needs some routines. If the teacher does not provide the structure, the students will, and the lessons learned will be haphazard and likely not very deep.
The activities and routines in this chapter are like navigation aids in the wilderness. They don’t take away the wild nature of the environment, but they give students tools to help them get to where they want to go.
