Preparation for Location Work
The preparation necessary for location work depends on the commission. At the simplest level you may only be given the location. You may not know the name of the artist or what is needed. In this situation you require a kit that is comprehensive enough to provide for all occasions, a route plan and sufficient time to get there.
If the assignment is to join an ongoing production, perhaps to work for a few days with ‘extras’ – actors employed as background artists – there will be a make-up, hair or wardrobe designer to give you instructions.
