Mike Hord: So, how did you get started in this whole crazy Maker scene?
Zach Smith: The real start, I would say, was in 2007. I had moved to NY, and was working as a web developer and started reading online about this new project called RepRap. I’m sure you’re familiar with that; it was this group of people that said, “Hey, let’s build a self-replicating 3D printer!” And all of those things were like, new, and kind of like new, mindblowing types of ideas. I started following it, I think I put their blog in my RSS reader, and just kind of watched it develop. I got more and more interested in it as I saw them continue to grow.
