Chapter 13. Dealing with your hopes and fears
The effective leader may look to be gliding effortlessly while peddling furiously below the surface. Creating success is rarely a smooth, calm operation. There is often a plethora of hopes and fears which are an essential part of making progress. The hopes create the drive for change while fears can be terrible inhibitors but also powerful drivers to make a difference.
In Chapter 4 on courage we looked at ways of handling and overcoming fears. This chapter looks at specific types of situations when we can be gripped by fear. What can help is an approach based on the 4Cs.
