A mismatch in motivation can change your whole life. For author Edward Muzio, it brought a ten year career to an end.
Ed started fresh out of college at a large company, helping to build the production facilities of the next generation. The schedule was aggressive, and there weren't enough people; he was perhaps given more responsibility than his experience level warranted. Luckily, he performed well. By the time the production facility was complete, he felt exhausted, educated, and exhilarated. Better yet, he felt like he fit perfectly with the company. He enjoyed work and looked forward to coming in. Every day, he saw himself achieving results that supported those around him.
