Makers share—their knowledge, their tools, and their support.
As the mother of two kids under the age of six, I feel as though half the conversations I have with them are about sharing, cooperation, and collaboration. Why we share, why we take turns, why you should let your sister play with your paints, and so on. I suspect that I’m not the only parent who feels like this is a lesson their children hear constantly. Or, more likely, it feels like something we say quite a bit but that our children seem not to always hear. I often wonder, though, whether we adults practice what we preach. Do we share our time? Do we offer advice, or more importantly, answer the questions that are asked of us? Generosity can take on many forms. ...
