I use a couple of learning platforms, but I'm on O'Reilly more than anybody else. When you're there, you start learning. I'm never disappointed.I'm always learning. So when I got on to O'Reilly, I was like a kid in a candy store. There are playlists. There are answers. There's on-demand training. It's worth its weight in gold, in terms of what it allows me to do.
Analogical Reasoning
Analogical reasoning is the act of applying one concept or idea from a particular domain to another domain. The simplest analogy might be something like this: Green is to go as red is to stop. A much more complex analogy that indicates creative genius is Kepler's application of concepts from light to develop a theory of the orbital motion of planets (Gentner, Brem, Ferguson, & Wolff, 1997).
As we saw in the example of microbiology labs, teams are often able to be creative by applying a concept useful in one domain to a new domain. To the extent that teams can recognize when a particular concept might be useful for solving a new problem, creativity can be enhanced.
