Tip 22Manage for Results

For any team, manage for results, not for approaches or practices. This is especially critical for multisite teams, where you can’t manage by walking around and listening (Behind Closed Doors: Secrets of Great Management [RD05]).

Use retrospectives to help people assess their practices and decide what to continue or change. But don’t mandate a particular way of working. Be clear on the results you want.
