This chapter is optional reading for some of you. If you’re familiar with Agile software development, you already know much (if not all) of what this chapter has to offer. The goal is to provide a concise overview of Agile software development, specifically for the readers who want to know a little more about the background and fundamentals of Agile before we start exploring what the role is of managers in Agile organizations (in Chapter 4, “The Information-Innovation System”).
