Throughout this book, the emphasis has been on applying theory and practice to managing an arts organization. In this chapter, we summarize different approaches and styles of management and various strategies for integrating management systems into the operation of an organization. We also review the specific functions of arts management and see how they can be applied to various management styles and systems. The goal of this chapter is to give the reader a model from which to work while recognizing ultimately, “management is about human beings.”
