Chapter 10. Managing — Remoteness, Work-Life, Gen Y, and Diversity

Many team-building excursions include a game called Minefield. The objective of the game is to lead a blindfolded team member across the room with only verbal commands, such that the person does not step on randomly thrown around, obstacles and reach a certain 'mine', which is then considered 'cleared'. Two teams are created and while one team is 'clearing the mines', the other one can create some distractions to confuse the minesweeper. Sometimes, two blindfolded people can be directed together.

The emphasis of the game is on 'trust', 'communication', and 'co-ordination' among different players, blindfolded and others.
