Underwood Consultants is a family owned food and hygiene microconsultancy based in Dumfries, Scotland (Crichton 2008). Although incorporated in 2003, the firm’s Managing Director, Matthew Aitken, has provided bespoke consultancy support to large food processors in developing their quality management systems in compliance with European and International food safety requirements since the mid 1990s (Crichton 2008).
