While a manager has to be concerned about many types of interpersonal relationships in an organization, clearly the most important one to be managed is that of the supervisor–subordinate communication relationship (SSCR). Accordingly this will be the focus of this chapter, although reference will be made to managing other relationships such as those with coworkers.
