You’ve weathered the storm, now what?
The key to an organization surviving a crisis is having a well-thought-out, well-tested, and well-executed crisis plan. If you have just gone through a crisis and had a plan, great, you probably came through it with minimal damage. If you didn’t have one, you probably have a lot more work to do to recover from what happened.
The reality is that all crises cause damage to one degree or another. Damage to employee morale, to customer loyalty, to market share, to stakeholder value, or some other knock against the organization. The best you can hope for is to minimize the damage. The term is, after all, Crisis Management, not Crisis Miracles.
