Driving change at the leading edge is a critical part of what defines great leadership. Resistance is the most common response to change, and how leaders negotiate points along the leading edge helps people overcome critical points of resistance. At the leading edge, we change five beliefs that inspire resistance.

•  There is no problem

•  We are solving the wrong problem

•  The solution won’t work

•  People and teams do not have the capabilities they need to succeed

•  Leaders will abandon or scale down the solution so that things will be different but not better.
