Jeffrey Paine sees architectural process as an opportunity to expand the power and function of design. He is a facile leader and thinker, with a “long view” of the design's impact on communities and economic growth. As cofounder of Duda|Paine Architects with Turan Duda, he places design thinking at the forefront of the architectural process. He leads technical execution of every project, focusing on contributions of clients, design team members, and other experts. As advocate for smarter clients and teams, he advances communication and information sharing systems in the practice. His inclusion of diverse perspectives fuels iconic, transformational buildings for public institutions and private entities throughout the US and Mexico. He is a frequent speaker at graduate programs in architecture, business, and professional forums for the Urban Land Institute, Duke University, NC State, NC Chapel Hill, and others. In 2016, he completed research on the history, implications, and evolution of public spaces as visiting scholar at the American Academy in Rome. He was elevated to AIA Fellowship in 2019.
