By providing a theoretical foundation, the concepts explained in this book can relate to the literature. Given the product or service strategy of a company, the subject of outsourcing has to do with the boundaries of the organisation. Which of the processes and activities are carried out by the company itself and which ones does it obtain from the market? This fundamental question has been considered on the basis of various theories. In this chapter, the contributions to this issue from economic, behavioural and management theories are discussed.
