This case illustrates how a pilot study generated a return on investment for a coaching program targeted to new-hires. By pinpointing a turnover problem with new employees who voluntarily terminate their employment prior to their first-year anniversary, this study focuses on how the specific causes of turnover were determined, how the solution was matched to the special causes, and how a calculation of the actual impact of the turnover reduction was developed.
