Some aspects of systems theory can provide a useful support for modeling services with Enterprise Canvas, with an emphasis on recursion, flow, strategy, and overall integration. However, we do need to keep this as simple as practicable, and also make it clear that this is about the term “system” in its more generic sense rather than solely about IT systems. The diagrams here should help to explain the concepts and their applications for a general business audience where required.
