3. Service Context and Market

No service exists in isolation: it always exists within a context or “ecosystem” of other services with which it interacts.

This occurs at every level, with every service, from an operations-layer web service or the services of a customer-service desk or an entire organization. It’s simplest, though, to describe this first at the whole-organization level.
