Reaching Millennials on new media requires more than a simple presence. Everyone has that. You need a deep understanding of your audience and a willingness to invest in reaching them using social advertising. With this understanding, you can create a comprehensive set of content strategies.

In 2014, social audience engagement platform Crowdtap (http://crowdtap.com) conducted a study that found that Millennials are spending an average of 17.8 hours per day consuming various media. It is important to keep in mind that this number doesn’t necessarily reflect total, or real hours, but rather cumulative hours on various media. So Millennials can be answering texts while scrolling through Facebook with the television on in the background. What is important to note in this study is that Millennials are always connected, and the majority of these nearly 18 hours is spent engaging with new media.
