Chapter 21. Modify Database Information from Your Site
Insert Records
You can allow users of your Web site to add new data to your database tables. To do so, you need a form into which they can enter the information to be added, and the necessary server-side code to perform the interaction with the database.
You can use the Record Insertion Form Wizard to both create the form and add the server-side code. This run-once wizard allows you to specify a data source and table, and then set the columns into which you want to add a record. You are also able to set the page to which the user will be taken once the insertion is complete; often, this is some sort of record list page so that he can see that the new record is indeed in the database.
