Include External Files
Since the early days of the Web, designers have struggled to find ways to share content such as navigation bars and footers across multiple pages. Dreamweaver templates offer one solution to the problem, but server-side scripting languages offer another in their ability to include external files.
Most dynamic pages are constructed by combining a series of smaller files into one. The navigation bar is often a completely independent file, as are sidebar content, footers, and possibly even the main content of the page.
