Two aliens crash-land in Minnesota, smack-dab in the Mall of America. Studying the complicated, multitiered map showing the layout of the mall’s five hundred stores, they find the location of an electronics store where they can get the parts they need to repair their spaceship. They’ve traversed the galaxy but have no idea how to navigate one of the largest malls on the planet. Then they spot a red dot labeled “YOU ARE HERE.” They plan their route. But they get lost along the way, so they find another map, locate their destination, spot the red dot, and recalibrate their route. That’s when one alien turns to the other, scratches his head, and says, “That red dot is amazing. How does it always know where we are?”
