Printers in the Classroom

People love to watch 3D printers in operation, and there is something magical about seeing a print materialize from nothing. In this chapter we discuss how to use 3D printers to motivate students to learn design skills, STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) subjects, art, and history. 3D printing can also be valuable as a tool to help students visualize abstract concepts or a piece of history, like the boat design we will see later in the chapter.
