In the Windows Server 2016 operating system, LDS can be installed using Server Manager. In order to install LDS, a user needs to log in with local administrator privileges.
Once logged into Server Manager, click on Add Roles and Features. Then, follow the wizard, select Active Directory Lightweight Directory Services under Server Roles, and proceed with enabling the role:
