In Chapter 5, we learned about using the load line to design a class A stabilized amplifier. We also studied the DC quiescent conditions of the amplifier. In this chapter, we are going to further our understanding of how the BJT amplifier works as an amplifier of ac signals. We will look at the ac model of an amplifier and compare its use as a method for designing amplifiers with the other methods we will use.
