Related tables
Tables with non-geographic data can be published in a map service. These tables may provide data related to map features, such as comments on campground locations or the sales history of a property. These tables can be searched and queried like features. Relationships between map layers and tables can also be published and searched.
Layers and tables can be joined, either by using geodatabase relationship classes, or ad-hoc relationship assignments in ArcMap. When published with ArcMap, those relationships are preserved in ArcGIS Server. The connection between related features and tables is stored within the relationships property of the layer and table.
