Advanced Workflows
The AutoCAD® Civil 3D® program is unique in that with a few exceptions, the data you create is stored in the DWG file. Using data shortcuts will allow you to collaborate with coworkers and prevent the DWG size from becoming unwieldy. Even if you work on small projects, data shortcuts can make creating cross-section views a more manageable process.
You will also look at LandXML as a tool to share data. Using this file format, you can transfer “intelligent” data without a DWG file.
