Editing Meshes and Creating Complex Objects

In the three previous chapters, you spent some time becoming familiar with the Autodesk® 3ds Max® platform. In this chapter, you'll continue exploring the modeling features of 3ds Max while exercising your newfound skills. You'll start by learning how to add openings to the walls you created in Chapter 3, “Creating Shapes with Splines.” Then you'll learn how you can import scanned images that you can use to trace. In the process of tracing a building's floor plan, you'll further explore methods for creating and editing forms using splines. You'll also be introduced to ways you can edit the extruded shapes that you have created, as well as edit any other mesh object.
