4D Simulation Best Practices
A question we often encounter is “Why do I need 4D?” or “What do I do now that I have a 4D model?” In addition to a nice animation of the construction activities, 4D has a multitude of practical applications. This section will explore some of these workflows as well as lay out the best practices for implementing 4D into your project workflows. To paraphrase the definition of 4D given earlier in this chapter, a 4D model represents the various activities of a construction project constrained to a project schedule (time). This allows you to visualize the sequence of activities in an interactive environment where you can easily view the model from various angles and sections.
