Examining Other Export Options
Besides the integration with third-party applications, Navisworks can export different file formats that can be saved as an FBX® file for additional rendering capabilities in Autodesk® 3ds Max®, DWF/DWFx export, or other tools, which can be viewed in Freedom and other model viewers. In all of these examples, the main benefit is being able to collaborate outside Navisworks to extend the value of the model to additional workflows and functions. In Chapter 2, you examined the Publish feature as a means to share NWD files securely. For the next series of exercises, you'll learn how to save the Navisworks model to additional formats that can be incorporated into these adjacent programs.
