Building information modeling, sometimes called virtual design and construction (VDC), is a set of tools and workflow concepts that offers our team opportunities to reduce waste and improve value to the overall project. When implemented properly, BIM can optimize and integrate otherwise fragmented workflows from design to estimating, to detailing, to fabrication, and to preassembly. Direct exchange of digital information allows content created by one upstream authoring application to be reused by downstream applications.
