The term ‘development’ is a multifaceted phenomenon to enumerate and evaluate a wide range of global centric goals. In journalism, it upholds the democratic architecture. Notwithstanding the term it engulfs, media coverage of both development and underdevelopment issues for the greater benefit of the society. This chapter is illustrated with the concepts of development discourse, development indices, rights-based approaches to the media and development issues in the beginning.
