Chapter 3. Migrating a Table-based Layout to CSS

AS PROFESSIONAL web designers and developers, most of us dream of clients with no demands other than for us to unfold our creative talents for them and no constraints, just a blank canvas waiting for our artistic vision. Unfortunately, the reality of web design today is a different story; most clients have some kind of web presence already, which at best is reasonably coded but more often than not was “designed” by a 12-year-old nephew with a hacked copy of a WYSIWYG web design program. (Our apologies to those 12-year-olds who actually bought their software!)
